#1: A DJ’s main squeeze
There is a growing infatuation with DJs’ wives and partners. The limelight splashes over them: @ISABELADRIAN – Steve Angello’s wife – is a fashion designer, author, and celebrity icon in Sweden; @DOUTZEN – wife of Sunnery James – is a Victoria’s Secret model, and mom, as well as the face of multiple brands, including L’Oreal and charity ambassador for Dance for Life ; @TINYDANIELA is Tommy Sunshine’s wife, former professional dancer and currently a working visual artist; and @RACQUEL_NATASHA – Avicii’s girlfriend – a prominent fashion and lifestyle blogger. Let’s see what level these power couples take it to next.

#2 The Rise of the Event Photographer (again)
The event photographer superstar watch is back with vengeance. @RUKES, @LIAMUNDERWORLD, @NICKYDIGITAL and @MR_650 share tens of thousands of followers on Instagram, documenting the life of the party- either on the road, from backstage, or from the audience. #3 Giving Back to The Crowd with Interesting Visuals
Let’s start some healthy competition between DJ’s by upping the anti of their set design, shall we? Three years ago, every night at the Coachella Music Festival, United Visual Artists redesigned the main stage as both a platform for performance and a standalone light and sound sculpture with experimental music. More recently, Installation artists like ConfettiSystem are starting to emerge in the nightlife scene creating, cheerful sets for artists such a Solange and the PS1/MOMA Summer Warm Up Series.
#4 Getting Intimate
A lot of DJs are beginning to try to do smaller venues at less crowded night clubs. For the fans, among a smaller crowd, it is easier to get a drink, and to feel a stronger connection to the DJ. Skrillex is partnering with Sirius to do small intimate tours and so does contribute to this intimate trend. Kaskade and Dirty South did a redux and #YourCity Tour in Cielo – a smaller dance club in Meatpacking than his previous tour at MCU park in Coney Island. Smaller venues in New York with great line-ups also include: Le Bain, Output and Verboten.
#5 Digital Meetups and Party Planning
People are meeting fellow party-goers on social medias such as Meetup.com, Reddit or Tastebuds.fm. Typically, they meet at a restaurant or bar, get to know each other, then hit the club together. Tastebuds.fm is a dating site that matches partners based on music preferences. Musical taste has become your main compass to party through the night.
