Take a hike – literally.
There are tons of trails near by so we pick one we haven’t been down and go exploring. It is just the two of you, having great conversation and you can stare at her butt when she insists on leading yet setting a slow pace that drives you fucking crazy like how can she walk so slow but then one cheek bounces up as the other drops and you marvel in the beauty of nature and the fantastic ass before you and everything seems right in the world and you just want to stare into assblivion forever. Sex in the woods is also pretty fun.
My favorite date with my SO was he took me out to the middle of the desert…

My husband, of 25 years, and I like to “Flip the Town”.
We flip a coin to make decisions on whether we head right or left, head into a pub, or bar, or bookstore or eat dinner at a certain place, taking turns flipping and picking the thing to be flipped on. It is a fun way to let spontaneous decisions rule the date. Some really great memories have come from this game.
Midnight bike rides and a stargazing session.
Destroy and conquer together!
Watch a movie neither of you have watched before…
…Put it on mute and improvise the dialogue.
This is going to sound really boring, but jigsaw puzzles.
Nothing too crazy 500 pieces sounds OK. You have plenty of time to talk, the activity can be stopped and restarted at any point.
Well my SO’s birthday is just before valentines day, so I got her some little things for her birthday, and went to a craft store and bought fleece…
…and made one if those two sided fleece knotted blankets and said “we’ll be using this for our picnic on valentines day” (the picnic was a surprise of sorts) So when valentines day came around we went on a picnic and it was wonderful. She then announced she had a surprise for me, and told me to walk over to a bush and pick up what is in there. I go over and to my surprise there were two cans of silly string. There was an epic battle fought that day. One of the most fun things I have done. I totally recommend a silly string fight to any couple. Edit: spelling
Try doing something outside your comfort zone!
For example, I’m a homebody but my boyfriend took me hiking one time. It was exciting and refreshing.
Go to Ikea and play Hide and Seek.
Write 30, 60, and 90 on three separate pieces of paper and put them in a hat.
Then in a separate hat have north, south, east, and west. Let her draw from each hat. Then drive, 30-90 minutes in a random direction and do whatever activities you find at said location.
Wake up at 4am & watch the sunrise together
Maybe not first date material, but perhaps third or fourth. What could be better than sitting close on a rooftop somewhere, talking & laughing & watching the sun come up? Take a flask of hot coffee for extra points.
Go on a biking tour of your area. There are often organized bike tours or routes already mapped out for you.
Buy a pack of Chinese Sky Lanterns and wait for a cold still night and take her by a lake or a park and let them go.
1st Date Cheat Code for MEN:
Never tell a girl where you’re going or how to dress. Instead, tell her to “dress for a first date with a guy she really likes”. Now, pick three places you’d like to go: someplace fun and active (bowling, pool, mini golf, go-kart racing, ballgame, etc), something romantic and classy (nice restaurant, upscale lounge, art gallery opening) and something in between (nice bar, coffee shop, comedy club). Now, when you pick her up, let the way she’s dressed decide which you’re going to do: If she’s wearing something sexy and revealing (dress, high heels, low cut top, etc.) than she wants to go somewhere classy and romantic. If she’s sporting some jeans, tennis shoes or flip-flops, and a tee, the bowling ally or pool hall may be a good bet. If she’s wearing jeans, high heeled boots, and nice top or blouse, than she’s not really jonesing for the super romance treatment, and she put in more effort than mini golf deserves (eighteen holes of mini golf in heels… seriously?), so a comedy club or some place with live music is a good choice. And never, EVER, do a movie on the first date! EDIT: Men: You’re going to wear a pair of CLEAN, NEAT jeans, a pressed stylish LONG sleeve button down shirt, nice shoes or boots (try to avoid tennis shoes of sneakers). Works for ANY occasion!
We, as in me and my SO, have devised a pact that for 2-3 hours per weekend, on alternating weekends, we do what ever decent activity the other one decides.
No prejudice, no hesitation, no complaints and no “revenge activities” if you didn’t like last weekend. Among other rules we agreed on not to play in any of the true phobias either one might have. That ain’t funny at all. Other than that anything goes. Needless to say we’ve had our fair share of memorable dates. Spelunking, shopping, carting, drifting, wood carving, orienteering, voluntary work at the animal shelter, manicures, knitting, dancing lessons, karaoke, playing video games, surprise get-togethers with long lost friends, etc … Highly recommended practice!
If you’re near the coast, stand up paddle boarding is a great time! So is tandem kayaking!
Museums are fun to go to.
They’re a little boring sometimes depending on where you go, but if you have a Children’s Museum close by, they tend to have a lot of interactive exhibits that are very entertaining.
Co-ordinating bruises are fun! Then get into the shower, and don’t come out until the water is running clear …
When we were dating my husband asked “do you want to do something fun or something crazy?”
I answered crazy. So he took me to Target, picked up a tablecloth, glass plates, wine glasses, candles & candle holders, and some fake flowers in a vase. We then went to Long John Silvers and had the fanciest feast they’ve ever seen. We set the table and even wore the LJS pirate hats while eating our greasy seafood. It was magical & such a fun story to tell.
Monday morning I’m going to go to his house and hide a Nerf gun and some darts for it and a note that says “Come and get me!”
I’ll call him and ask if I left my bank card in his car and I’ll be in backyard somewhere with my Nerf gun. Maybe I’ll get two Nerf guns. One for each hand.
Good team building skills, a bit messy, smells good, and you get to eat freshly baked bread.
Go on a GHOST TOUR!
If you’re into the supernatural craze that’s storming our country, go on a ghost tour. Many towns now have “haunted houses” open for guided tours.
